There is a high magnitude need to establish a cadre of well qualified Medical Teachers who can impart higher level of Medical Education to Medical graduates and postgraduate students. With the changing modern trends in Medical Education, it is necessary to teach the Medical teachers about innovative and effective Teaching- Learning technologies.
Keeping this in mind, Medical Education Unit (MEU) was established at MGM Medical College, Navi-Mumbai since 1st January 1990. It is affiliated to MCI Regional Centre-- Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital, Parel, Mumbai.

The MEU regularly conducts Faculty Development Programmes, NMC recognized training workshops, national and International Conference, CMEs, seminars, Research Methodology workshops, PG Induction program etc for Faculties and students. In all these activities attempt is made to provide updated knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and responsiveness so that the Medical education is delivered to the Faculties and students appropriately and effectively.
These activities are conducted by expert MEU Faculties who are trained at MCI Regional centre- Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital, Parel, and many also trained at NTTC, FAIMER, MUHS, etc.
07 MEU Faculties have done Fellowship in 'Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER)', conducted by GSMC-FAIMER Regional Institute and University of Philadelphia, USA. 02 Faculties have also done Advance course in Medical Education (ACME) at NMC Regional centre and one is currently doing the course.
